1 Soul House scratched from yesterdays 7th to race here. 3rd off layoff should be ready to win but with 5-2ml offers no win value.
12 Dowse's Beach won last for trainer Clement, 3rd off layoff tough post.
11 Ziggy the Great broke maiden here last year may rally for a share.
Race 2 the
3 Skidmore working well for second career start, Rosario rides, slight turn back from
mile to 7f.
7 Ridingwiththedevil just missed in last 2nd off layoff, goes second time for Mott.
6 Brilliant Jewel has a bullet work for 2nd off layoff, rallied in last and just missed. Extra half furlong may make the difference.
Race 3 the
5 Cordero (Ire) gets lasix first NA start drops from stakes to MSW, gets JR Velazquez to ride. Should like the distance.
4 Strong Coffee debuts for Motion 19% debut>1Mile.
8 Frenchman Bay debuts for McPeek trainer shows a profit debut>1mile, is a $360k Super Saver colt, maybe can win this in debut.
Race 4 the 7 Miss Lamour broken Maiden here last summer, trainer Matz having a great start to meet. Long layoff a concern, but working well and drops from GR3 to Allowance level for 4yr old debut. 10 Tokyo Time has leading rider Castellano 2nd off layoff, won last stretches out from 7f to 1 1/16 mile. 5 Lonesome Town adds blinkers, JR Velazquez rides back, trainer is due for a win.
Race 5 the 7 Waging War a $350k War Front colt debuts for Albert Stall, bullet work from the gate on 7/19 over track. 1 Royal Son Pletcher/Velazquez 2yr old bullet work from gate on 7/23, concerned about post 1 but if breaks clean could be long gone for a trainer that loves to win with his 2 year old's at the Spa. 4 Burndines a Scat Daddy colt debuts for good first out trainer Anthony Dutrow, attracts leading rider Castellano and has steady works for debut.
Race 6 the 2 Granny Mc's Kitten goes for trainer owner combo that won at 50% the last 3 Saratoga meets. Broke Maiden in stakes here last year. 9 Fashion Fund (GB) adds blinkers good jockey and trainer combo. 11 Bartiromo just missed in last second off the claim, always runs well.
Race 7 the 8 Dayatthespa horse for course 3 for 3 on the Spa lawn, trainer C Brown wins 39% off 90+ day layoff at the Spa last 3 meets. Working well with a nice bullet work on 7/20. 7 Pianist another from the same trainer 39% off 90+ day layoff, Jockey and trainer combined to win at 60% past three meets at the Spa. Is also working well with bullet over the training track on 7/20. 6 Ready Signal bullet work on 7/18, has won over the lawn here, drops from a Gr1. Offers good value with 12-1ml.
Race 8 the 7 Vyjack best bet turns back from route to sprint trainer wins at 43% with this angle last 3 Saratoga meets. Working Bullets, 3 for 3 at sprint distances. 6f will be shortest yet. Looks like a solid sprinter and offers great value at ML of 15-1. 5 Happy My Way has topped 100 Beyers in 5 straight races, 3 wins in a row. Jersey Joe Bravo in for the ride. 1 Palace 3rd off the layoff, won over the track last year
Race 9 the 3 Sweet Whiskey top J/T combo, bullet work on 7/27, broke maiden in debut last year here. 5 Southern Honey ships in from Churchill off GR 3 win in last. 7 Sweet Reason won the Gr 1 Acorn in last, slight turn back from 1m to 7f, loads of speed in here could set up well for her late rally.
Race 10 the 5 Palace Malice the even money favorite will be hard to beat if he runs back to any of his last 4 races(all wins). Has won twice over the track and distance. 1 Will Take Charge last years Travers winner is main danger to the choice for HOF trainer D Wayne Lukas. 3 Moreno speed horse will try to take them as far as he can, tough loss here last year in Travers by a nose.
Race 11 the 2 Swift Warrior trainer Terranova 71% wins last 3 Saratoga meets in Stakes races. Won at this track and distance. 10-1 ml would be a gift. 6 Plainview trainer wins at 43% turf routes here last 3 meets. 3 wins from 3 starts on the Saratoga Turf. Must use in boxed exotics with the choice and if 5-1 ml holds will be betting 2 horse on the win end. 4 Big Blue Kitten the favorite hasn't raced since a disappointing 8th in the Breeders Cup Turf Gr1trainer is solid with 90+ day layoffs last 3 meets here 39% wins. 2 for 2 on the Saratoga lawn. Another must used in boxed exotics with the top choices. Very dangerous. Looks like a solid trifecta box.
